0000205: Mechanism needed to allow plugins to extend and update the schema
Need a mechanism to allow plugins to update and extend the schema.

The dashboard_rss component does a little of this though it needs completing and polishing

This already exists, a plugin function pluginname_install() is called at install time, and pluginname_upgrade() is called at upgrade time.

Sorry, I'm wrong - the mechanism is currently only for dashboard plugins (dashlets) We should extend this to work with all plugins as part of merging dashlets and other plugins.

Not quite the same thing, but worth noting here that as of today plugins can insert data into the SiT! config and use it by extending the config page http://sitracker.org/wiki/CreatingPlugins#Plugin_configuration [^]
