Summary0000975: Request to disable any Contacts from creating new Incidents
DescriptionI would like to request a feature in SiT, that restrict User created Incidents.

Suggested specification:

per User (Option): A checkbox that when selected, prevents this individual User from creating new Incidents through the Web Portal. The "Create Incident" would either disappear, or state "Not Authorised".

System (Option): A checkbox in the Configure screens that when selected, prevents ALL Users from creating new Incidents through the Web Portal. Again, the "Create Incident" would either disappear or state "Not Authorised".

Conditional Use: These two option could be dynamic, and only appear if the "Users Can Create Incidents" is disabled. So the full feature set available for adding Incidents would be:

1. Through the Web Portal as a full Incident "Create" form.
2. Through the Web Portal as a "Queued Email"
3. Not allowed at all.

Additional InformationThe preference would be to have both "per User" and System options, but if not then the baseline would be better on a "per User" level which allows more control and flexibility.

I think this is generally a good idea but I'd like to suggest that the per user option actually be changed to a per-contract option. I say this because it's the contract that gives the entitlement to support not the contact record itself.

Good point and I agree with your thinking. Although I am aiming for the ability to stop individual Users from creating Incidents, that could be handled by creating mirror contracts. Some contracts allow creation of Incidents, others don't and you then associate Users with the appropriate contact.

Your suggestion does actually make for more flexibility.
